TBH after playing many tab target/ point and click MMOs I am now an only TERA player. The best one atm i think is L2citadel.Īgain, L2 is great but it's definitely not for everyone. If you do want to try L2 i recommend joining a recent private server in which everyone is still relatively low level, and also because retail is infested by bots. But the pvp is a bit pointless, it feels like an addition to just another pve game, so in the end I got bored with it and came back to L2. Tera was one of the games I tried replacing L2 with and i though it was fun, mainly the targeting system and gameplay. I've played L2 for almost 10 years now and everytime I try to find a new game to replace it I fail and somehow always end up returning to L2. Having a guild or constant party is a necessity. Also, it's very very dificult to solo unless you want to run like 3 or 4 clients to support your main char. It's tab targeting but it does need some skill to pvp, tactics, positioning and attention to what skills everyone else is using during combat is important. It's completely open pvp, anyone can kill anyone anywhere. It has a somewhat steep learning curve and in any server you join there will not be any real noobs playing anymore. It's VERY grindy, as in several months of constant daily playing to get to the required level/equip to even be a factor in pvp. And sieges are awesome.īut L2 is not for everyone. This, combined with the mechanics of the game, where you pvp to gain control of territory and raid bosses, creates a lot of entertaining drama and politics ingame and in the forums. Also, because there's no pre-selection of factions you tend to group and join guilds of people you know and like, and then you fight against guilds of people you actually dislike. Pvp is at the core of L2, you only do pve to get levels and equip for pvp. As it was said already, L2 is THE pvp game.
